I can't call myself a fan - I'm amongst those that were more likely to make fun of his style than not - but it is always sad to see a genuinely kind person go, and that he certainly was. He's had a huge impact on cultures everywhere, and the many times it seemed he narrowly escaped death made him look like a crazy invincible man. Sadly, it was not so. I'll miss him - both as the one person you could rely on to pun repeatedly... and, FAR more importantly, as a genuinely kind soul. I was in shock when I heard it, and it still lingers. The 4th was a sad day. RIP.

I am so sorry for the family. I am so grateful for the chance to have seen and heard everything Steve Irwin had to share with the world. He was a voice and a champion for animals and the environment.
