We are doing an Eminent Australian project in English at school, and we chose Steve Irwin as our subject. We thought we knew a lot about him, but we didnt even know half the things we found out. We were nearly in tears when we were writing about his death. We hope to do him proud with this project and we will pass on his passion to as many people as we can. Steve Irwin will always live on in peoples hearts, including ours.
Thanks for EVERYTHING Steve, we love you.

This man and his family changed my outlook on the importance of conservation for the better and inspired many others around the world to make a greater effort to protect the environment and wildlife species that need continual help and attention. The education that Steve gave to so many individuals in his unique way will ensure that his work will go on and become even stronger in the future . In this way our planet can become a more sustainable and healthier place for all of us to live. Steve motivated us to improve our own lives. I am still deeply saddened by Steve's loss. I can only say that I truly felt proud to be a fellow Australian citizen - "hey true blue" for sure, that is what I felt when I watched David Williamson play his guitar in delivering his moving contribution to the memorial. A genuine composition for a genuine down to earth guy. Rest in peace Steve.

When I was very young until I was 16 years old, all I would ever want to watch was the Crocodile Hunter. I would yell for my family to come in and watch it with me and I would sit in front of the TV, not moving, through the whole show. Steve is the sole reason that I want to pursue zoology. He was the inspiration for me to work with and to save animals and our wildlife. My father was never around, and I often felt and Steve was the kind of man I would want for a father, so I guess in a weird way, he was the dad I never had. When my parents told me that he had died, I cried for two days. I was inconsolable, my mother didn't know what to do. I was so heartbroken. Because my goal in life was to work at the Australia Zoo right along side Steve someday and that is still my goal. I don't want his death to be in vain. He inspired so many people and touched so many lives, especially mine.
I miss him greatly.
You were a damn good man, Mr. Irwin.

Its always hard to write down exactly how you feel, but i just want to say how proud steve would be of all his friends and family who love him because you are doing great. My dad died 13years ago and they say it gets easier but its not that it gets easier you just have to keep making him proud and keep his spirit alive, which you are all doing so well. I cry everytime i see him on tv because i think of you all and i just want to say keep going, keep doing him proud and when i have children i will tell them about my dad and about another great man called steve irwin and hope they grow up to be as loyal, passionate and strong as them.I hope your all are ok and keep strong and together as me and my family are as close now as ever and we talk about dad together all the time (best friends) thats what im sure you all are (stick together). He is an amazing man and he would be so proud of you. Keep up all the good work for he will live on in our hearts and his messages about animals will spread to generations just like he wanted. I hope i have tried to say how i feel and gave you some comfort. Keep strong, keep together and keep making him proud you are doing great! u could tell he loved you all very much and be proud of you no matter what.
he is missed but will never be forgotten always in your hearts thats something that will never go.
Thats why i will take his inspiration and try my best to do the things i love just like he did and never give up! he taught us that! x were thinking of you all. Here in the UK every1 knows steve irwwin and his family and friends are stereo types we all need to look upto in the world!

Steve Irwin was without a doubt natures greatest warrior. Through his television programs I learned so much about animals, and habitats that I really never thought about before. Steve opened peoples eyes to fresh discoveries everytime a viewer would turn on his show. I had always dreamt of going to Australia, and hanging out with the Irwin family, and exploring his world, and his works. I knew that this was something that would most likely never happen, but when spending as much time as I did watching the whole Irwin family and the crew at the zoo, I felt that I already new them, and that being with them in person would happen as if they were my friends and family. That is what Steve did; he brought us into his life, while he changed ours. Everyman can look to him as a hero in many ways, his passion about his work, his love, and devotion to his family, and that despite being a bit of a tough guy he never once hid his emotions. He wore it all on his sleeve. My wife and I tear up often when we see him on T.V. We mourn the greatest manb we never knew. My sincere wishes go out to the Irwin family, and all his friends. I know they will not let his legacy die, and that his dream will live on forever.

I have always wanted to visit the Australia Zoo, I have also dreamed of some day meeting the Irwin family.
Though I missed the chance to meet Steve, I will some day go to the zoo and hopefully meet his family.
His selflessness, compassion, and love for all creatures big and small, poisonous and non, will live in my memory for the rest of my days.
He was perhaps the most amazing and wonderful person on earth, though, I am sure I do not have to tell you that.
I hope that the world remembers him, as it remembers all other great men.
The world took him for granted, and now it is a bit dimmer of a place.
His memory will live on in all of us, even those of us whom have never met him. I can't begin to explain how I felt when I heard the news.
I could not work, I cried most of the day, and I still get watery eyed as I am now, when I think of him.
However, I am truly glad that he was able to achieve so much, and give so much to the world, and to the animal kingdom, he gave us, everyone, so much.
I can still remember an episode of his television show, where there had been a fire and he had a poor baby lizard of some kind in his hand, was so hurt and sad that it was dying, that it made ME cry for it, ten thousand miles away in my living room, I felt his sorrow for this tiny little creature. This man, was amazing.
This man, is a legend.
May you find comfort in knowing that there are people out here who miss him terribly as you do, and would give anything to shake his hand, and tell him how wonderful he really is, though he may be modest about it, he really was a hero to all.
