There are so few people who truly and deeply care about the welfare of lesser creatures, and now there is one fewer. Crikey mate, I hope you're with your mom in the next world, figuring out how to make it better too. The world is better for your being here for your short 44 years, but lesser with your loss. Hopefully your message of love and caring will live far beyond your mortal life.
Farewell Mate.

My thoughts go out to steve's family, friends, and coworkers at australia zoo and on animal planet; And to the rest of the world.
I know your up there right now running around with old Sue. You did more for non-human species than we can grasp at this time and I can hear you now saying "crikey that lil buggars got quite a sting to her, but it's a defensive one that she'll only use when she feels threatened." and you would probably say that your only regret is that people may not treat sting-rays as the docile beutiful creatures that they are anymore.
Yesterday we lost Humanitie's Greatest Ambassador to the rest of god's creatures.

Our family's most heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to Terri, Bindi & Bob, and Steve's extended family and friends at the Australia Zoo and associated organizations at this very difficult time. We grieve with you for the loss of a tremendous human being, and an unrivaled steward of our planet and all of its creatures.
Steve, you left the world a tremendous gift: you've helped us appreciate some of the most maligned creatures on the planet, and in doing so, you've helped us better understand and respect the world as a whole.
Rest in peace, Steve. Thank you for sharing your amazing passion and adventures with us all.

A larger than life conservation hero in our home for years. A true believer and teacher of nature, conservation, and the understanding that we live in "their world", not they in ours. His deep love of his wife, children and parents; his love for all of God's creatures, and his love of the nature and the land should be an example for each and every one of us in this very difficult world that we live in. What an example he set - may we all be so lucky to achieve even one of those things. Passion and enthusiasm - Crickey....
PS. I love that they named their beloved daughter Bindi Sue after his favorite croc (Bindi)and his dear dog Suey.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Steve Irwin--I grew up watching his shows; my first memories of him were when he and his wife married. He was a great entertainer and educator whose passion was inspiring to anyone who loved animals. It still hasn't sunk in I'll never hear him say "Crikey!". Thanks for everything, Steve. I send love and sympathy to Terri Irwin and her children as well.

After seeing Steve stare danger in the face it's hard to belive that this happened. I had totally disengaged the thought that this could happen; that's what makes it so hard to believe.
I can rest assured he met his demise doing what he loved to do. Rest in Peace, Steve, thank you for your wonderful insights on the animal kingdom. You will always be remembered.

Dear Terri, Bindi, Bob, family and friends,
My family is struck with utter disbelief and saddness by the passin of Steve. Your familiy has touched mine in so many ways through teaching. Thank you for sharing Steve with us, we are blessed to have learned and been entertained by him. And maybe now he is wrestling with a big one in heaven now, still doing what he loved. I'm truly at a loss for words about what to say. There are only a few times in my life when I can honestly remember being this sad. I am so sorry for your loss; Steve always struck me as one of the most honest people I had ever seen. The world, its people and animals especially, will be much the poorer without him. My thoughts are with you all.

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Steve, I found his passion for the creatures of this plant awe inspiring. His work with some of the marine creatures has helped along with my own passion and others like him made me endeavor to become a Shark Consevationalist, I’m am currently studying marine biology in my first year.
All my best goes toward Steve’s family, may I wish them all the best, hopefully Steve’s will shall continue on through his wife, children, friends and his many adoring fans.
Steve Irwin.. RIP my dear fellow, you were/are an Australian icon. We shall miss your controversial antics, dodging crocs and snakes and your hilarious “Crikey!!”
We shall miss you!!
