Steve Irwin entertained and educated millions of people, and dedicated his life to protecting endangered species.
It is truly a great loss for not only Australia, but all the world. Few people can accomplish in 80 years what he did in his short 44, and my heart and those of all his fans are deeply hurt by his loss. And we all feel great sympathy for his family for their loss.

i am terribely sorry for what has happened. i was stunned when i had heard of the accident. mr. irwin was one of my early idols, and part of the reason why i want to become a biologist. he will always be remembered.

We will all truely miss steve. Some may say that steve was a crazy but I say he was a hero. He was my role model, my inspiration.... I wanted to be just like him and I still do. He was the greatest. I'v been watching his show for years, and I still will. He will never be forgotten.

To all of Steve's family & friends on behalf of myself & all of my family, please accept our deepest sympathies on your very sudden & extremely sad loss. We are long-time fans of Steve & his worldwide conservational work & we were extremely shocked to hear of his untimely passing.
Steve really was a one-off, totally unique. He had such a vivacious passion for his work, for life in general and of course, most of all for his family. His blatantly overwhelming love for his family was always evident, I believe that his children had possibly the proudest father on earth! Many condolences to you all, the world will certainly be less colourful without Steve here but there is no doubt at all that through his outstanding legacy he will continue to live on in our minds & in our hearts...

I know that sorry, and sorry that you lost your loved one and so on just doesn't cover the pain and anguish that you feel. It was a big shock when I opened the newspaper. I couldn´t believe it first. I want to thank Steve for his work. For the nice hours he hold me infront of the tv. My thoughts are with his whole family and friends. A loveable person left us.

Such a shame for such a great man to tragically pass. There are very few people who can make education so entertaining but Steve was certainly one of them. I learned the news of Steve's death via yim from a Brisbane native. I was deeply shocked and stunned. My deep condolences goes out to your family. My granddaughters brought Steve and Terri into my life many years ago with Crocodile Hunter. He was larger than life with his 'over-the-top' enthusiasm and his love and call for conservation of nature was an inspiration to us all. My deepest sympathies go to his wife Terri, his daughter Bindi and his son Bob. I can't imagine the pain they are feeling right now. Steve's death hit me in a way that was so unexpected. Even though he was a television personality, he was like a 'good friend' to everyone. The world certainly has an empty space with his passing.
