I've watched you since I was about 3 yrs old. My dad and I would laugh out loud at your wild adventures. You were my first hero. I had dressed up like you on Halloween, gave away Steve Irwin Valentine cards, and I made my mom buy all your videos. I always wanted to go to the zoo to meet you and my gaol is to still go one day. when I started putting away my childhood toys, your action figure remained on my desk next to my computer. Because of you, I look at the world in utter respect. I can only hope to have the energy you had, and the love for wildlife you did. I hope you are now at peace with God and all His creation.

It is pretty safe to say that Steve Irwin touched many lives--probably more than he could ever fathom. To his family, we send our condolences and the hope that your grief will be eased (if only a little) in knowing how much we thought of him as a fellow human being and animal activist.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for sharing your lives with ours. My three young daughters and my husband and I loved to watch your family. Your family became a part of ours. The world may never know a better and funnier animal lover then your husband/daddy. He (you all) made us laugh as we became more aware of our surrounding animal world. Our prayers are with you and your extended family and friends. He will be missed.

Dear Steven and Family,

I was still mourning the loss of my father, who passed away in September 2003, when I heard this shocking news. I cannot explain the intense sense of heartache and loss I, and my family, have been feeling ever since. We have followed the news and watched all of the tributes. To see the look on everyone's face at the memorial just broke our hearts and truly showed the intensity of this loss.

Dear Steven: Even though we did not know you personally, you have forever touched our lives.

To the family, you have our hearts and prayers and know that the world is mourning with you. The sense of pride you must feel in what Steven has accomplished in his short life cannot be measured, I am sure. We share that pride with you.

You were taken too soon, Mate. And,you have changed our lives forever.

With deepest sympathy,

Dear Terri, Bindi Sue & Bob,

I would like to express my deepest condolences for the recent passing of "The Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin on behalf of myself and the rest of the Pople family. Although I didn't know Steve directly, your programs showed such unique character, enjoyable viewing and provided our generation with a compassionate understanding of not only nature, but our interdependent relationship with nature.
On many occasions Steve made me cry with laughter! the way he used to just jump into swamps etc and catch crocs or something was so special, such enthusiasm and lust for what life had to offer is sadly without doubt a very rare quality. :)
I'm sure that the good works of Australia Zoo and the Irwin family shall be remembered with an Aussie-kinda smile through all of the world's communities, continue doing what it is you love doing. Such a professional and so obviously a genuine person, we were all fortunate to have spent some time with Steve, he changed the lives of so many of us, he will be greatly missed by Australia, it's people, it's animals and everyone else who knew Steve's spirit, his descent-outlook on life and his real-love for wildlife.
"Oh Crikey!...see ya later Crocodile Hunter and thanks for being there for the rest of us Steve, R.I.P mate. I'll leave you all with a quote from one Abraham Lincoln: "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." Pob lwc! (Best of luck).

Sincerely,
Kevin J. Pople

I have cried and grieved over the last few weeks and during that time I have wondered why? I have not lost a family member but in reality I have. Steve brought everyone who would let him into his world and into his family and for that we are all truly blessed. Having said that my grief is nothing like that of his family and close friends. I send my thoughts and prayers out to them. I know they will continue to do his work, his life's passion, and that will be the greatest way to honor his life. The life of a man who often did, and still does, hold the attention of the world. My son is among those people. He is 5 and still trying to understand what has happened, as we all are. I don't believe there will ever be a answer to the question why when a life is cut short. The one thing that can be answered is what Steve's legacy will be. Conservation, love of family and friends, entertainment and respect and acceptance. He lived it everyday in the zoo he built, the family he shared and the work he did. May we all remember his message.

Rest in Peace

To Steve Irwin's Family:
My prayers and thoughts are for Terri, Bindi,Bob and his father, Bob, who Stephen left behind. Also for all those who were close to him and knew him well ... like a brother or sister.
My heart was also broken when I heard the news about his death ... I just couldn't believe what I had just heard. Not Steve ... by golly, he was like one of my own children (all three of my children are in their forties) so I considered Steve to be like one of my own. I loved his energy, enthusiasm and passion he had for each creature. I loved to hear him talk...his distinguished accent ... I can hear him now ... Ain't he a beauty or Isn't he beautiful ... His face would just light up whenever he was talking about them.
Today I thank the Lord, for the opportunity to have him come into our livingroom to show us and the world how to love these wild creatures.
Terri ... hold on to your memories ... they are a gift from God ... all those beatuiful memories and pictures ... how much he loved you and your precious little ones.
Terri, I pray that the Lord will comfort you and give peace to your heart and to your family ... this is my prayer for all of you.
