There's a story I recently heard about a place called the Rainbow Bridge. I don't know where it came form and you may already know it.
It's about an amazingly beautiful place with a rainbow whose colors are brilliantly alive. Here, animals are healthy and happy, patiently awaiting their masters; the humans they love; the humans that love them. Those who weren't lucky enough to have a good loving home await their escuers. The will meet and cross together as a family again. The little creatures that weren't lucky enough to have a rescuer wait as well. They know that they will cross with someone; that they will finally be rescued. They will finally have a home.
Can you imagine the commmotion-The Elatin when Steve stepped on that bridge!!! This was the day when hundreds of thousands of animals crossed that bridge with their beloved human. The rainbow rose, its colors becoming more radiant, to honor this amazing man. The protector of the animals!
Terri, Bindi, Bob, we are sorry for your loss. For our loss. We all loved him and admired him. Be stong. We think of you. We mourn with you.

For several days I've been trying to find the right words to express my feelings on the death of Steve Irwin, and nothing seems adequate. I am grieving over him in the same way I did when Princess Diana was killed. At night I think about him and Terri and their children - and cannot even imagine the pain and grief they are going through, or the giant void his absence will create in their lifes (and ours). He was one of a kind - the most kind and loving man toward all creatures on this earth that I've ever seen. It is still unbelievable to me that his valuable life was taken during a low-risk underwater maneuver, by the 'knee jerk' reaction of a sting ray. He had faced and survived so many greater dangers that he seemed invincible. But he was killed in a way that any amateur tourist might have been - by snorkeling over an unexpected and basically docile sting ray. I just cannot make sense out of it. In his 44 years he did more for mankind and the animal kingdom than the rest of us will do if we live to be 100. I feel so badly for Terri, Bindi Sue, little Bob and his father. Steve loved all of them so dearly, and it showed. I will miss him so much, and hope that his shows on Animal Planet will run forever. They are such a joy to watch and so educational. My prayers and best wishes go out to Terri and the children, and hope that they will find a way to come to grips with this devastating loss. I have made a donation to Wildlife Warriors in Steve's memory. It is the least I can do. God bless you for making our lives richer. Sincerely, Susan Ervin

Steve was loved by children of all ages. My daughter, age 9, is one of his biggest fans often talking of meeting him and talking with him about conservation. She has loved him from the first time that she saw the Cocodile Hunter on animal planet. Last month her teacher asked her class to write their life ambitions. My daughter wrote that hers was to meet Steve Irwin. She looks forward to watching Teri, Bindi, and baby Bob carry on with Steve's mission. He captivated us through his love for all creatures. He will be missed by my family and the many people around the world that loved him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. God Bless and keep you in tour time of grief.

Steve was a man dedicated to his cause. He gave so much to the world even though he had so much more to give. He gave so much love and just looking at how alive this person used to be brings tears on my eyes. Think that he was a man who could love unconditionally, he gave without taking, and that is wonderfull. He is a great role model and he changed the face of earth, put a smile on it. He found a place in millions of peoples hearts and by passing away, that part of our hearts cracked.
I wish his family will feel better thinking that he will be remembered and be a part of this world for ever and that he lived a beautifull life surounded by people who he loved and loved him back and also all this animals. Watching his documentaries is a life changing experience.
Ms Teri, Steve is watching over his family flying above your Australian zoo as an angel, together with many thankfull souls that did not get to thank him while they were still a part of this world.

From a young age everyone has allways known of the steve and his tv shows. Over the last few years I had become quite a huge fan. I was thinking of how one day it would be great when i travel to possibly work along side a man such as Steve. Unfortunately that day might never become true but he will allways live on and thankyou so much for teaching me and many others so much. You should be so proud!

To all of Steve's closest Family and Friends: a week has gone by and tears still flow. You are in our prayers, and the world grieves with you at this horrific loss. Steve was a true legend who will always be more than a memory. Who could possibly resist his infectious enthusiasm, passion and joy? He won our hearts from the very beginning. He was a truly masculine man, with a heart of gold. He has taught us to not only treasure our wildlife, but to love our loved ones with abandon. His spirit truly lives on and will continue to be a force of good in this world.
