Well, there were definitely some tears shed from this family. (And I'm still waiting for mine to dry up.) Like many others, our family was a HUGE fan of Steve and his family. We met some of Terri's family in 2003 when we visited Eugene, OR. They own a Mexican food restaurant. They gave our kids stuffed crocodile toys and told us that Steve was the real thing. What we saw on T.V. was what he was like in real life. (We also learned that day that Terri was expecting a baby) My now 12-year-old daughter, Katie, especially loved watching and reading about Steve, his life and all the wonderful things he was doing in and out of the Australia Zoo. Through his awesome, larger-than-life personality we felt that we knew him, and to lose him was devastating. We will greatly miss him. There will never be another Steve Irwin. Thoughts and prayers go out to Terri, Bindi, Robert (Bob) and the whole Australia Zoo, as well as Steve's dad, Bob, and longtime friend Wes. As for Steve, I could just picture him saying, "That little Sheila got me! Wasn't she just gorgeous?!!" I am sure he is having a long chat with his mum and he and Sui are onto the next great adventure. With great love (and thanks) from the Ross Family in California, Tracy, Christy, Katie & James

My my....I don't know what to say really. When I saw this on the news I wanted to cry. Steve was one of my idols. He cared about the animals and I loved watching him on the tv. I'll miss him alot and I wish I could have met him face to face. There's so much I'd like to say, but I think it would be rude to go on and on and on and take up a whole page. I know Steve is still watching over the beloved animals of Earth, and who knows...mabye he's even having his own adventures right now.

Where do you start and where do you end, you don't i suppose you just keep remembering all there was to love about him. We were fortunate enough to see steve & Terri perform and also grab a quick "g'day" out the back after he performed and just from his simple smile and g'day he made such and impact on our daughter that she has loved the whole zoo since. Of course she cried but she said you know mum i think steve is looking after all the animals up there...

Dear Terri,Bindi Sue,the Bobs,John and Wes,We cannot imagine what you are going through at this very difficult time of loss.Steve was a true original. His passion and enthusiasm for wildlife was unmatched and refreshing and we are glad he was here on planet earth and "Animal Planet" to share all the miracles and fascination of all animals with all of us.We have prayed for your comfort and strength and feel Steve is going to live on in his family and friends and his viewers through memories that noone can take away.I am sure you are all blessed to have had Steve in your lives but sometimes things are so unfair.I believe in Heaven, and I think he is up there with all of those who have gone before smiling down and being an angel watching over his two beloved children. We will always think fondly of Steve and admire him for his compassion to animals and his love of his family.God Bless You all. With sincere and deepest sympathy,Laurie & Dennis Robbins,Waldoboro,Maine,U.S.A.

I live in Brisbane now, and when I found out about his tragedy I was speechless. Steve is/was very famous and popular in Sweden, and all the kids and adults was watching him on the telly every week. As I said - this is a tragedy, but at least he did want he loved to do.
With love to Irwin's family,

My kids have watched Steve since they were small, and loved him like a family member. He will be deeply, deeply missed, and I cannot imagine that life will be the same without him, because he made the world a better place. Some people say that he did it for the money and fame, but if you would look back at the entire series through the years, even a blind man can see how much he loved what he did, and he made a difference. I find myself, even now, still wanting to change the channel to animal planet again, for a second forgetting that it wont be the same. We all will sorely miss you, Steve, and thank you for being such a good man, role model, and friend to all, both animals and people alike.

I can't belive that such a great bloke has been taken so unexpectedly. This news has been a great shock and I very sadden to hear of his passing. I enjoyed Steve's shows and documetaries, he had an enormous heart and his love of life and respect for nature was infectious. He taught so many people the value of protecting the world around us. He was a mazing and I know I shall missing learning from him on the tv. He was pure inspriration.
My heart, feelings and thoughts are with his family and friends.
RIP Steve, thanks for opening my eyes a little wider.

RIP STEVE!! The Crocodile Hunter was a staple in our family. When i was in elementary school and middle school, we weren't allowed to watch tv unless it was the discovery channel or animal planet. So, without fail, almost every night we would be watching the show. I think most parents had that thought in mind also, that is why so many young people were so touched by Steves life. I think its amazing how this one guy was able to change everyones minds about nature and have such an impact on people...I hope he knew. Thanks steve for changin the world!

When someone we care for has been taken away
We ask the good Lord why coiuldn't he stay
There are so many others from which he could choose
It doesn't seem fair that we had to lose.
This man that you took in the prime of his life
Had two lovely Children and a beautiful wife
He worked very hard for all he had
And now can't enjoy it and that makes me sad
I hope that his life in heaven with you
Can give him enjoyment and happiness too
For all of the people he left here on earth
Will remember him fondly for all of his worth
Steve will be loved and missed greatly, rest in peace Steve love the Gratton Family

My heart goes out to Steve's family and friends. They were so lucky to have known him and have him as a part of thier lives, even if for only for a short time. I don't understand why something like this could happen to a family like Steve and Terry's, but I know anyone who was strong enouph to handle having Steve Irwin for a husband will get through this, given time. I'm praying for your family Terry!

I don't believe my eyes. People are actually killing sting rays. This is not what Steve and his family were about. The message he has tried so hard to spread world wide has been about understanding and perserving the animals. Not killing them. It wasn't fair that he was taken from the world too soon, but what kind of message are you sending to all who knew him and what he truelly believed in and loved with a passion. This is only undoing all that he has fought so passionately for over the few short years we got to see and enjoy him on TV. Please don't hurt what he loved so much. He would be devistated much as we are now.
