You were born into this world at a time such as this to bring awareness & realisation to a somewhat nonchalent world in order for all of us, through you, to feel the heartbeat of Mother Earth once again. We have come to see the Animal World in a new light, with respect and adoration. Thank you Steve for fulfilling that which you came to do in this lifetime. My family & I simply adore you...all the way here in Singapore. My class of 11-year olds, of Mee Toh School, here in Singapore salutes you. The entire class is sending their condolences as part of their English IT lesson and to truly express our gratitude and sorrow at the untimely demise of a true Earth hero.

Over the years I have enjoyed watching Steve and Terri work with various reptiles and celebrities. My son very much enjoyed watching Steve and Terri with their daughter Bindi team up with the Wiggles to do the movie "Wiggly Safari". I myself really enjoyed watching the movie, especially when Steve would describe various zoo animals and how passionate he was about each and every one. I was very sad when I learned of Steve's death, and even though I did not know him personally it has touched me deeply as well as my son, who is only 5yrs old. Me and my son express our deepest sympathy and we will most definetly miss a most energetic and passionate man. Our prayers are with you Terri and your children at this time of your loss.
God Bless you and yours

I must admit that over the years Steve taught me a lot about different animals and even brought my fear of reptiles down to a level to where just last summer I was able to remove a very large King Snake from our yard with with my bare hands and take him to a place where he really belonged. My family greives with yours in your loss and I will deeply miss his energy that he gave to a profession he so dearly loved. My family and I pray for you during this time of grieving. One of these days we will make it over to visit the park that Steve built.
God Bless you and your family

I picked my son p from school and someone had told him that "crikey" was dead. i told my son that someone was being very cruel to him and i would speak to the principal tomorrow about this cruelty. i was devastated when i heard on the late night news it was true. i told my son it was true the next morning, that our wonderful "crickey" was gone. We both cried and continued to cry the following days when we saw Steve being steve on the TV. Terri, i have no idea how hard it must be to lose a man so beautiful and one which loved you and the children so deeply. I hope you feel Australias arms around you and our pain for you. We will miss steve so very much becuase he was such a beauty

When I am down and oh, my soul, so lonely. When troubles come and my heart burden be..then I am still and wait here in the silence until you come, and sit awhile with me. You raise me up so I can stand on mountains, you raise me up to walk on stormy seas, I am strong when I am on your shoulders, you raise me up to more than I can be. Crikey, we'll miss you mate.

Steve's family,
I was completley shocked when I saw the news. I Really thought it ws a mistake. I prayed it was a mistake. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in tragic time. I have loved animals for as long as I can remember and after seeing Steve wished I had the courage he had to jump in there. It was amazing to see how enthusiastic he was. His love of nature and Enthusiasm was so contagious that my 11 yr old son wants to go to Zoo Camp next summer, and be like Steve. The world has lost a wonderful, compassionate, couragious, and loving person.
He WILL be missed
Sincerely,
Angie Nolan

Dear Mrs. Irwin & Kids,
I was in complete shock when I heard about Steve's death last week. I wish to offer my condolences and prayers to you and your family in this horrible time. If it helps, Steve was an inspiration to me, and is the reason that I am in college to become a Zoologist.
The world is a little darker without Steve, but myself and everyone else in the world who care about animals will make sure his legacy lives on in our work.
Crocs Rule!
Sincerely,

On behalf of me and my wife Peggy and "special needs" son Jason,we extend our heartfelt sympathies to Terri and her children and the entire family on the loss of a very talented and loving husband, father and son.He brought SO much enjoyment to people and taught us all how to love and respect wildlife. He seemed so "spirited" and obviously loved what he was doing.I guess at least he died doing what he enjoyed doing, but it is still a heck of a loss and one that we don't think will ever have someone who can fill his shoes. Our prayers are with you Terri.God Bless and condolences to his father also. Lovingly,The "Upton" family

Such a sad day. Why would God want to take a special person, (who helped the world in so many ways) to heaven. Such a waste of a life.
Steve probably achieved much more in his short life than we ever will and his family should be very proud of that, I know that I am.
Our heart goes out to Steve's young family and I hope that they will get comfort knowing that all these people care. He was a very special man.
