I loved watching his shows. Steve had a wonderful personality and he was very adventerous. He was like my hero. I wanted to be him at one point. When I lost cable in my house I would pout when the time came for his show to be on because I couldn't watch it anymore, but then he would do guest appearances and stuff on talk shows and I always watched them.
It came as a shock when I heard about his death from a friend of mine, through Myspace. I didn't want to believe it at first but then the papers printed the story and the news reported the story over and over and soon it was just something you had to believe.
I am happy though that he died doing something he loved doing, observing and preserving dangerous creatures...and my prayers nad condolences go out to his family and friends.

To Mr. Irwin's family. Words and tears can not express, the grief that one feels to lose someone with so much passion for life. My adult chidren and I enjoyed Steve's and Terri's adventures throughout the years and will not be forgotten. You taught us a great deal about the animal world in which we are a part of and your legacy will live on. With greatest sympathy.

Man....This has really knocked the wind out of my sales. It still is unbelievable to me that his death is actually real because of Steves bigger than life personality. Steve's passion for wildlife has impacted millions of lives in a positive manor. He is truly the Elvis of the animal world and will live on in the hearts of many. Our prayers go out to Steve's entire family, especially to Terri, Bindi & Bob.

My thoughts go to Terri, Bindi and Bob, all of Steves family, he's best friend and friends.
There is no comfort in the fact, that Steve died, doing what he loved. It is tragic and meaningles.
It is not possible to replace or imitate him. There was simply no one like him. He was passionate and enthusiastic to the extreme and this and his love for animals, is what we will remember him for.
I guess the Poem by W. H. Auden describes how Terri feels right now. A little comfort is, that she and Steve had 14 beautifull years together.
I hope Terri finds strength to overcome this terrible loss.
W.H. Auden:
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crêpe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
